German professor to discuss flooding\nThe IU Institute for Advanced Study will present a lecture today entitled "Lesson Learned?: Two Years After the Elbe Flood Disaster in Germany," by Robert Juepner. Juepner is professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the Department of Water Management and director of Institute for Water Management and Ecotechnology at the Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Sorority to present 'Readings on Race' \nSigma Lambda Gamma Sorority members will conduct a half-hour presentation on the book "Presumed Alliance - The Unspoken Conflict Between Latinos & Blacks and What It Means For America" by Nicolas C. Vaca; followed by an audience dialogue about the presentation and its racial, cultural and ethical implications. The reading and discussion will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Grand Hall Room of the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center.
Departments will co-sponsor career fair\nThe annual Biology & Chemistry Career Day will host representatives from companies such as Baxter Pharmaceutical, Cook Group Incorporated, Procter & Gamble and many others. The companies will be on-hand to meet with students and discuss potential job openings. Sponsored by the Biology Academic Advising Office and the Career Development Center/Arts & Sciences Career Services, the event is designed to help students get jobs or internships. Union Board to show "The Terminal"\nAs part of the free Union Board Film Series, the summer blockbuster, "The Terminal," starring Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones, will be shown at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday in the Whittenberger Auditorium located in the first floor of the Indiana Memorial Union. The movie focuses on an Eastern European man who must take up residence in an airport terminal. While there, he befriends the staff and falls in love with an airline flight attendant.
Arbutus to take yearbook portraits all week\nBecome a part of IU's 2005 Arbutus Yearbook by getting a free portrait sitting. Appointments are recommended, but not necessary.
