Children's storybook character Amelia Bedelia will make an appearance at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater 2 p.m. Saturday. \nAs a part of the BCT Family Series, Story Salad Productions will present "Amelia Bedelia 4 Mayor," a live-action musical-theater show designed for children and their families. \nThe show has been highly anticipated by the Buskirk-Chumley staff.\n"It looks great,"said Buskirk-Chumley Marketing Director Suzanne Strick. "It's definitely a high-caliber show."\nStory Salad is a national touring company that presents children's stories using song, dance and audience participation. In addition to the Amelia Bedelia story, the four-person cast will present several other stories, including "Uncle Nacho's Hat" and "Jack and the Bean-Sprout."\nBuskirk-Chumley Director Danielle McClelland said Story Salad received a lot of praise from other theaters when she was searching for performers for the show.\n"I'm very, very excited," she said. "This season, we have two productions that are highly recognized."\nAfter the show, the Bloomington Parks and Recreation department will present a workshop for children ages five and older. \n"Children are able to explore more deeply either the content of the performance or an aspect of the performance," McClelland said. \nAdmission to the workshop costs $1 in material fees.\n"Amelia Bedelia 4 Mayor" is sponsored by AM 1370 WGCL, FC Tucker/OBR Realtors and Old National Bank and was brought to Buskirk-Chumley with funding from a regional partnership initiative through the Indiana Arts Commission.
