Who is Mark Ronson? According to his Web site, "he's one of New York's DJ's, producers, and remixers." I don't know much about his influence in the New York scene, but damn, does he know a lot of famous people.\nHere Comes the Fuzz is set up in a beautifully simple fashion. Ronson makes a beat, blends a couple songs together, adds a few unusual noises and some celebrity musician puts a vocal track over his work. The impressive list includes Nappy Roots, Ghostface Killah (Wu-Tang), Nate Dogg, Rivers Cuomo (Weezer), Sean Paul, Tweet, Mos Def, M.O.P. and Q-Tip, among others.\nMost of the songs include disco vibes and a bass-heavy beat. Some songs on the album flow extremely well, such as Mos Def and M.O.P.'s "On the Run," while other songs make you question, "Was rap ever supposed to be mixed with disco?" \nIt's hard to judge Ronson because so little of the album appears to be his. His beats are appealing, but the tracks don't revolve around them -- the guest vocalist is always the focus of the song. Ronson might not be solely responsible for the final product, but at least the music he threw together is unique.
DJ spins rap and disco in very unoriginal ways
