Trustees approve 4 percent tuition hike

The IU board of trustees today approved a a tuition hike of about 4 percent for the 2003-04 school year.\nInstructional fees for IU Bloomington in-state students will increase by 4 percent, from $4,573 to $4,756 annually.\nNon-resident returning students will pay total fees of $16,552, an increase of 3.9 percent from the current rate of $15,925.\nOther mandatory fees, which at the Bloomington campus include student activity, technology, transportation and health center fees, will increase by $19.56 to $761.12. Total annual tuition and fees for a full-time returning student will be $5,517. \n"We've carefully considered all of the components that affect the cost of an education at IU, including guidance we've received from state officials," interim IU president Gerald Bepko said in a statement.
