Movie stars, stay away from CNN

When James Cromwell said the words, "That'll do pig," he gave up his right to act as a figurehead of public political opinion.\nI have no issue with war protesters. I love dissent. I think none of us love war, and most of us would agree that at the very least, protest is necessary to ensure that if force is to be utilized, we gave it lots of thought.\nHowever, I don't think celebrities should be "rockin' the mic" in our names.\nWhether Sean Penn's trailblazing out to Iraq or Fred Durst is taking his Grammy presentation time to eloquently declare, "this war needs to end now," their voices are tainted. Martin Sheen may play a president on TV today, but does anyone remember "Beverly Hills Brats"? There is a certain amount of legitimacy that is required to speak strongly on serious political issues. Do you think world leaders are looking for "Exit to Eden" Rosie O'Donnell's opinion on political matters? Still, she was on MSNBC the other night. \nFurthermore, one has to have a sense that people speaking against the war are speaking "for the people." It's a little hard to imagine how they would empathize. I know I haven't produced an album for Britney Spears. I wonder if they had to decide between protesting and giving up their millions and millions of dollars, which would they choose?
