Women snap Green streak

Freshman leads team to fifth victory

The IU women's basketball team continued their cross-country game play Wednesday night when they played North Texas (4-3) at the Super Pit in Denton, Texas. They ended the 15 game home winning streak for North Texas by defeating them 51-43.\nThe score was close the entire game with IU holding the lead for the majority of their time on the hardwood. A halftime score left the Hoosiers in the lead 22-19. \nThe second half went much like the first. With less than five minutes to go, the Hoosiers had the lead 42-37, with a lot of help in rebounding from freshmen Angela Hawkins. \nIU held the lead 46-42 with one minute remaining in the game. With just 26 seconds left to play, Hawkins was fouled and went to the line to shoot a 1-1. Her first shot was good, but her second one was short. It was the last anyone scored as the Hoosiers left the court with their 51-43 victory.\nThe 5-2 Hoosiers will next take on the Purdue Boilermakers at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
