This letter is in support of the IDS staff, first for its courage and journalistic integrity for allowing a paying American to freely speak about an issue 75 percent of Americans happen to share an opinion about in the latest Fox poll. \nSecondly, I support David Horowitz for battering up against the tide of racial McCarthyism that is beating on the shores of this nation. Both the group of IU journalists, and the individual, David Horowitz, are under attack by the same crowd. What is wrong with these people? David Horowitz raises some logical points that are serious obstacles when paying an entire group of people that are 135 years removed from their grievance. \nEveryone is dead now, but after 135 years people on this campus and throughout America are making the choice to be victims. For all black and white people, color is only skin deep, and I have made that choice. We have obviously reached a critical point in American society when people can either follow this principle, and work to succeed, or we can allow slavery reparations and nonsensical peer-influenced behavior like in Cincinnati predominate. Bravery doesn't emanate from smashing a local store window, or using government to plunder your fellow citizens. Bravery comes from self reliance and is nurtured in truth and family. Hats off to both of you.
