The date of the Egg Scramble has been changed to Saturday, April 6 due to an overwhelming number of cancellations because of the IU men's basketball game. Registration has been extended to 5 p.m. Friday, April 5.\nIn 30 seconds, it's over, but with the slew of prizes literally up for grabs, it is bound to be worth attending.\nThe fourth annual Egg Scramble, sponsored by the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Bryan Park. The event is for adults over 21 only, and pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. today. Last year, the event was filled up with all 350 available spots, but this year there is still room left. \nThe event is co-sponsored by B-97 and Big Red Country 105.1 FM. Radio personalities will be announcing raffle winners and entertaining with games and prizes prior to the event.\nNot one of the 3,000 plastic eggs to be scattered throughout Bryan Park will be left empty. About 200 eggs contain candy, but all the rest will have prizes inside donated from area businesses. The grand prize is a weekend getaway for two to the Beachwood Inn in French Lick. There are prizes of every sort waiting to be found, including dance lessons, free dinners, tickets to King's Island, free house cleaning and a gym membership. \n"It's fast fun," said Shelli Stewart, community relations manager for the Parks and Recreation Department. "People get there 45 minutes to an hour early and see the eggs all out there. They drop the flags and everyone runs."\nAlthough everyone who participates must be 21, the ages of egg scramblers are widely varied, according to Community Events Planner Leslie Kaiser, who is in her second year running this event. \n"It isn't a child's hunt. It is a frenzy," Kaiser said. "Everyone needs a bag or basket and a flashlight, because it is in the dark."\nThe fee of $6 dollars per participant goes to fund future free events put on by the Parks and Recreation Department, Kaiser said.\nThere were 150 remaining spots as of Thursday afternoon. Participants can register at the Bloomington Parks and Recreation office at 401 N. Morton St. or call 349-3700. Proof of age is required.\nCheck-in is from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at Bryan Park. Parking will be available at Bryan Park Pool or the Park 'n Ride lot on Woodlawn Avenue.
