Davis negotiates for salary raise

IU Men's Basketball Coach Mike Davis will be getting a pay raise soon.\nDirector of Athletics Michael McNeely, Davis and his agent are currently negotiating the raise and the final announcement will be made by the end of the week, said Terry Clapacs, IU vice president and chief administrative officer.\nDavis' contract, signed Feb. 15, pays him a base salary of $175,000 this year, finishing out his interim contract, and will pay Davis $225,000 a year beginning July 1. In addition to the base salary, Davis' contract includes added bonuses and compensation depending on the team's performance. \nThe overall annual income would reach about $500,000 a year once the bonuses and outside income was tallied up. \nThis contract would be binding until May 2005.
