Hoosiers undefeated\nThe IU women's tennis team are undefeated after beating No. 69 Western Michigan 5-2, and Miami (Ohio) 7-0. The Hoosiers are 4-0.\nFreshman Dominika Walterova is 4-0 in singles play after wins at the No. 3 position against Western Michigan's Nikki Douglass and Miami's Catherine Dilley.\nThe Hoosiers faced the Broncos first on Saturday at the IU Indoor Tennis Center. WMU injured senior Larissa Chinwah beat senior Amanda Field at the No.1 spot. Chinwah won in a ten-point tie-breaker 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8). \nJunior Karie Schlukebir lost to WMU's Melanie Remynse 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2. IU won the rest of the singles matches following those defeats.\nThe IU doubles teams won five out of the six matches. Sophomore Linda Tran and Schlukebir improved to 17-3 at the No.1 position. After gaining a 9-7 victory over the Broncos, the pair dominated the Miami match, 8-2.\nWater polo team loses season starter \nThe women's water polo team opened their season with a tough weekend against strong competition at the Michigan Invitational.\nOn Saturday, IU took on No. 7 Hawaii. The Hoosiers fell short with a score of 11-8. In the second match, No. 6 UC-Santa Barbara beat IU, 8-5.\nDespite the losses, IU coach Barry King was happy with his teams' performance.\nFreshman Sharna Nelson led the Hoosiers with several goals on the day.\nOn Sunday, IU defeated the Michigan State club team 13-4. Sophomore Kristy Streefkerk set a career-best record with 4 goals on five shots. In their second match, IU fell short to Michigan 10-9. \nThe Hoosiers led 9-7, but gave up three goals in the final three minutes including the game winner with 14 seconds left. Junior Kristin Stanford led the Hoosiers with five goals on eleven shots. \nPatriots, Rams head to Super Bowl\nThe New England Patriots upset the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-17 yesterday to secure a spot in the NFL Championship game. \nPatriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe, who was replaced by Tom Brady after an injury earlier this season, made a surprise return in the AFC title game. Brady left the game in the second quarter after sustaining a injury to his left leg.\nThe Patriots scored early in the game after Troy Brown returned 55 yard punt for a touchdown. \nThe Steelers only managed a single field goal until late in the second half. After closing the gap of 18-points to a single touchdown, Kordell Stewart threw two interceptions in the final three minutes in the Pittsburgh loss.
