Department to hold colloquium, hiring talk\nThe Department of Linguistics will offer a colloquium and hiring talk at 4 p.m. Thursday in Ballantine Hall 144. \nSteven Abney, principal technical staff member for ATT Research Laboratories in Florham Park, N.J., will discuss the use of computational linguistics in language learning. Abney will discuss bootstrapping techniques in processing data.\nA reception will follow in Ballantine Hall 005.
Student Activities Office holds Leadership Quest\nThe Student Activities Office will hold a leadership conference at 9 a.m. Feb. 2 in the Frangipani Room of the Indiana Memorial Union. \nThe weekend-long conference will offer workshops on leadership styles, time management, group dynamics and diversity, getting involved and program development.
