At 3:21 p.m. Thursday afternoon, police responded to a call from People's Bank West Branch, 525 Clarrizz Blvd., in response to a tipoff that a man was writing bad checks in the bank.\nAccording to police reports, police arrived at the scene and then called a detective into the bank. They took three men into custody for interrogation. Forgery is a Class C felony.\nSgt. Bill Parker said the men used forged checks to open accounts and then withdraw non-existent funds in at least two banks Thursday morning. Police have charged Elualy Ould Sidahmed with false information. He is being held at the Monroe County Correctional Center without bail.\nWhile Sidahmed's alleged accomplices were released, Parker said an investigation is pending and police intend to press more charges.
