Former IU player Black signs with Bengals

Despite not being picked in the 2013 NFL Draft, former IU defensive tackle Larry Black Jr. said he has signed a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. Black, who called the Bengals his "hometown team", had previously worked out with the organization this spring and will be given the chance to make the 53-man roster by the end of the preseason.

IU beats Michigan 9-1

The score resembled a football game after the first quarter rather than a baseball game after the first inning, as the Hoosiers led 7-0 after the opening stanza over Michigan tonight. The team was revved up due to Michigan's pregame antics, junior outfielder Casey Smith said. "I don't know if you saw the pregame stuff, but they were kind of cocky, and we wanted to shut them up a little bit," Casey said.

IU Coach Lin Loring on WGCL 95.9 FM with Joe Smith

On Tuesday evening at 6 p.m., IU Coach Lin Loring was a guest on the Joe Smith Report on WGCL 95.9 FM, live from Yogi's Grill & Bar in Bloomington. Loring said that the women are really excited for the Big Ten Tournament, which begins on Thursday in Bloomington.

IU women's tennis regular season wrap-up and Big Ten Tournament preview

After losing to No. 47 Illinois and No. 16 Northwestern, the No. 34 IU women's tennis team finished the regular season 17-8 (6-5). The Hoosiers placed sixth in the Big Ten. IU Coach Lin Loring said that he thinks Indiana would have defeated Illinois if all of the women had been healthy for Friday's match.

Delta Tau Delta disputes Little 500 finish

As Delta Tau Delta rider Paul Smith and Beta Theta Pi rider Will Kragie worked on each other on lap 200, Smith said he felt a push from Kragie and saw him ride into the gutter before making the pass and leading Beta to victory in Saturday's Little 500. The gutter is defined in the IU Student Foundation Riders Manual as the cement separating the track from the infield. "As we got close to Turn 3, Kragie came up on my inside and slammed into my hip which about caused me to crash," Smith said.

IU wins second straight versus Butler, 5-2

After giving up two straight hits to open the game, sophomore pitcher Kyle Hart gave up just two more the rest of the game, leading his team to victory and improving to 6-0 on the year. "He's a very, very confident kid and very cerebral," IU Coach Tracy Smith said.

Hoosiers take down Butler 12-2

The middle of the lineup came through today, the three through six hitters went 13-17. "A lot of guys in baseball say hitting is contagious," sophomore infielder Sam Travis said, who bats third in the lineup.

All-American transfer Boykin joins 2013 class

Junior college transfer Danetta Boykin has signed a National Letter of Intent with the IU volleyball team, the team announced in a press release today. The 6-foot-1-inch Boykin is an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American transferring in from Los Angeles Pierce College in California.
