Former IU coach, Miller, named candidate for WNBA job

Hoosier Hysteria

In the midst of a week that has involved three departures of players recruited by Curt Miller, the former IU women’s basketball coach is now a candidate for an assistant coaching position with the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.

The Head Coach of the Sparks is Brian Agler, the father of former IU guard Taylor Agler. Taylor Agler announced Tuesday that she will be leaving IU.

Brian Agler confirmed Miller’s candidacy via text message.

“Coach Miller is one of several candidates that we are talking with to be an Assistant with the LA Sparks.”

Miller coached IU for two seasons, taking the Hoosiers from an 11-19 record in year one to a 21-13 record and No. 22 ranking in his second season. He then resigned July 25 for personal health and family reasons. He has remained largely out of the public eye since then.
