Middle Eastern Arts Festival to begin Monday

The usual sights and sounds of the annual Middle Eastern Arts Festival kick off Monday with new style. Everyone is invited to attend the wide range of festival activities that go through April 20 and include music and dance from the region, as well as exhibits, museum events and art and scholar presentations.

Other Boleyn Girl, Mary, to star in feature film soon

After hearing that Sony Pictures was making a film about the rise and fall of sisters Mary and Anne Boleyn in King Henry VIII’s court, I knew I had to read the novel first. The film, which opens Feb. 29, is based on Philippa Gregory’s best-selling novel “The Other Boleyn Girl.”

Injured Gordon, Hoosiers head to Wisconsin

Some Hoosier fans thought on Saturday that things couldn’t get any worse than losing a home game against an unranked team that was playing without one of its starters. Well, things did get worse. According to a report on the Indianapolis Star’s Web site Wednesday morning, IU’s star freshman Eric Gordon injured his wrist during practice earlier this week.

IU smoking ban expected to have gradual effect

Free class teaches women self-defense

Any woman who feels unsafe at times or simply wants to learn how to better defend herself will have the opportunity to do so this month. Starting Monday, the IU Police Department will offer a Rape Aggression Defense course that will be taught by certified instructors in the Activity Room at Campus View Apartments.
