Every year when the track opens to the veterans, we all flood out onto the cinders to pound out sets, practice exchanges and be with the only other people on the planet that understand how much it means to be there.
The Indiana University campus has four seasons; summer, fall, winter and the Little 500. I think that everyone can agree that the weather last week kicked off the greatest of those seasons as hundreds of rookies joined Riders Council out on the cinders at Bill Armstrong Stadium… and that is why I am here.
