Young set to compete despite Cat-2 races

Despite the fact that Eric Young has ridden in multiple Category 2 races, which normally goes against IU Student Foundation rules, he remains eligible to compete in Saturday’s Little 500 race, said IUSF Little 500 race director Pam Loebig.

Neuenswander, distance runners lead Hoosiers into weekend meet

The Big Ten has named senior pole-vaulter Vera Neuenswander “Athlete of the Week” for a second time. Coach Ron Helmer said she is the only pole-vaulter in IU history to jump the heights she is at right now. Her jump of 4.25 meters not only won the event Saturday at the Border Battle, but also put her into the nation’s top-10.

Softball to host Wisconsin for two-game series

The IU Softball team defeated Indiana State 5-2 Thursday afternoon to extend their win streak to five games and improve their record to 25-15 (6-2). The Hoosiers have won 14 of their last 16 games overall and improved to 10-1 at home. The Hoosiers welcome Wisconsin this weekend for a two game set.

English department puts on a marathon

Bohman, along with graduate student Elise Lonich, organized the public reading of “Ulysses” as part of a program to help graduate and undergraduate English students. They have also organized weekly social hours at the PourHouse Café on Friday afternoons, and this was the final event of the year.

Venue ready for Marvin Lowe experience

Marvin Lowe went through various changes in medium throughout his course as an artist. He started exploring the art of intaglio prints, then transitioned to mixed media pieces much larger in scale before finally working in more abstract ways. The Venue Fine Art & Gifts will display some of Lowe’s large-scale collages starting today.

Local bands launch surprise Jordan show

An orange extension cord ran from a single outlet across the empty spaces of the Jordan parking garage and into an overloaded power strip. From the one outlet, a makeshift music venue was powered.
