Thompson signs MLS homegrown contract

Freshman forward Tommy Thompson has signed a Homegrown contract with Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes and will leave the IU men's soccer program after just one season, an IU press release announced.

IU track heads to West Lafayette

In their second meet of the indoor season, 32 Indiana athletes will compete in 15 events for a chance to earn their sixth consecutive win over Purdue. However, IU  Coach Ron Helmer said this win won’t be as easy to come by as it has in years past.

Women's tennis starts 2014 at home

The women’s tennis team is gearing up for the start of its season. The IU Winter Invitational will begin Saturday and continue through Monday. The Hoosiers will play the University of Oregon, Harvard University, Marquette University and Abilene Christian University.

During the course of the week the IU women’s water polo team has been a loose, fun bunch during practice. But come Saturday the team will get serious as it knows the Hoosiers have two difficult opponents to face.

After more than a month without competition, the IU men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will start the second half of their season this weekend as they travel to Iowa City.

IU looks to end road struggles

The last time the IU women’s basketball team won a Big Ten road game was Feb. 10, 2011 against Illinois. Almost three years later, that streak has accumulated into 19 consecutive road losses with Wednesday’s defeat at Wisconsin. The Hoosiers will look to put an end to that streak when it faces Purdue 7 p.m. Friday at West Lafayette.

Hoosiers travel to Northwestern on Saturday

With a signature win on its résumé after Tuesday night’s victory against Wisconsin, the IU men’s basketball team (12-5, 2-2) will look to raise its winning streak to three against the Northwestern Wildcats (8-10, 1-4) on Saturday.
