Women’s soccer club in Arizona for NCCS

The women’s club soccer team will travel to Phoenix today to play in the 2011 NCCS National Soccer Championships. Twenty-four of the top women’s teams in the country will compete at the Reach 11 Sports Complex.

Indiana grabbed the No. 16 seed for the tournament, awarding them a first-round bye into the tournament of 48. Unseeded Liberty and Old Dominion will face off Thursday to determine the Hoosiers’ second-round foe.

Ginther qualifies for Championships

Junior Samantha Ginther was selected as an individual qualifier for Monday’s national meet after finishing 14th in Saturday’s 6K NCAA Regional with a time of 20:58.3.

Junior goalkeeper Luis Soffner succeeded for a ninth time this season in shutting out IU’s opponent. The problem was, he didn’t shut out his own teammate, senior Tommy Meyer.
