Report: Cowboys fine Owens $9,500

IRVING, Texas -- Terrell Owens has finally pushed the Dallas Cowboys too far, drawing a $9,500 fine for missing a team meeting and a rehabilitation session and being late to an offensive meeting, The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday.

Tiger keeps on rolling at Firestone

AKRON, Ohio -- Tiger Woods celebrated his 10-year anniversary of turning pro Sunday by winning for the 52nd time on the PGA Tour, making an 8-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole against Stewart Cink to win the Bridgestone Invitational.

Replacing 7 with 7

After losing seven seniors from last season, the No. 10 Hoosiers found a solution to their potential problem by replacing them with seven freshmen. With its combination of young and old players, the IU field hockey team split the first two games of its season.

UPDATE: Men's soccer wins weekend tourney

The IU men's soccer team opened the season on a successful note with two victories at the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament. The Hoosiers defeated No. 8 Creighton University 1-0 Friday night and the University of Alabama at Birmingham 2-1 Sunday.

IU's strength, conditioning up to par for '06 season

The IU women's volleyball team begins its season Friday at the West Virginia Tournament in Morgantown, W.Va. The Hoosiers will face the University of Akron at 5 p.m. and take on Oakland University and West Virginia University Saturday.

IU unconcerned with ranking

Preseason rankings don't bother the IU men's soccer team. Though they were ranked No. 1 in the nation at the start of three of the last five seasons, the Hoosiers open their season tonight ranked No. 12. Senior midfielder Josh Tudela couldn't care less.
