A year after the brawl, FIU and Miami say it won’t happen again

IU finishes ahead of 3 top 10-ranked teams in 1st tournament

The IU men’s golf team began its season in an impressive fashion, placing sixth out of 16 teams at the Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio. The tournament featured five of the top 12 teams in the country, and the Hoosiers finished ahead of three top-10 programs.

Sampson commits first 2009 prospect

IU men’s basketball coach Kelvin Sampson nabbed his first recruit for the 2009-2010 season when Indiana-native Derek Elston verbally committed to IU on Sunday, Elston’s AAU coach David Hamilton said.

IU leaves South Bend 2 wins richer

The Hoosiers are on a roll. Fueled by the big wins last weekend, the IU men’s soccer team traveled to the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament in South Bend, Ind. There they took on Northern Illinois and Rhode Island, winning both matches.

Saturday meet first of the season for cross country squads

Racing a teammate for a win can be a huge boost. That was the position IU sophomore Jordan Kyle found himself in during the Indiana Invitational last Saturday in Bloomington. With the only competition coming in the form of IU-Purdue University Indianapolis and four unattached runners – competitors not running with a team – the IU men’s cross country team was able to use Saturday’s invitational as a warm-up for season competition.

IU wins ‘tough game’ on road

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Although IU hosted a mini marathon Saturday morning, Hoosier football fans were treated to a full marathon of a football game Saturday night in Kalamazoo.
