INDIANAPOLIS – The IU women’s basketball team has a lot to play for in the Big Ten Tournament, and it showed in its dominating 74-52 first-round win over Northwestern on Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse.

There were a lot of lasts at Assembly Hall on Senior Night – the last basket, the last shot, the last rebound, among others. But it was one senior’s first that had everybody talking. Forward D.J. Hoosiers begin Under Armour Invite

While most IU students will still be in Bloomington today waiting for spring break to start, the Hoosiers (1-8) are already in Florida. The Hoosiers are one of 14 teams competing in the Under Armour Invitational hosted by the University of South Florida this weekend.

IU hosts Gophers in last home game

It’s taken three games, two weeks and one horrific loss, but Lance Stemler thinks the IU men’s basketball team is ready to accept IU interim coach Dan Dakich as its leader. “We really are starting to see coach Dakich as the head coach now,” said Stemler, a senior forward. “I guess there was a little bit of transition from going from assistant to head coach.”
