Artifacts should return to China

China wants its stuff back, but 18 museums in France, the United States and Spain have drafted the first public refusal to return illegally obtained artifacts to their original countries. An estimated one million Chinese artifacts currently rest in over 200 museums across the world, most of which were plundered in times of war.

Actor Robert Rockwell dies at 82

MALIBU, Calif. -- Robert Rockwell, who played dozens of television roles including Philip Boynton, the shy biology teacher and love interest for Eve Arden in the 1950s sitcom "Our Miss Brooks," has died at age 82, his family said Monday.

'Oklahoma' a golden oldie

NEW YORK -- That golden haze on the meadow is a bit brighter the second time around. The current Broadway revival of "Oklahoma!" received a muted welcome from many of the critics when it opened at the Gershwin Theatre last March. Tasteful, a tad sedate and a little reverential, the production was intimidated perhaps by the show's standing as a landmark of the American musical theater.

AT&T to provide service

INDIANAPOLIS -- Regulators had hoped that letting AT&T provide local residential phone service would spur competition, and on its first day in the market the company debuted a plan that undercut its major rivals' prices. "There's no doubt that consumers will benefit from this," said Patrick Comack, a telecommunications analyst at Guzman & Co.

Don't attack without proof

There is no "smoking gun." Regardless, the Executive Branch of the United States is set on pursuing a war with Iraq. Within the past two weeks, U.N. weapons inspectors have found 16 empty warheads about 90 miles outside of Baghdad. Despite this discovery of what the Bush administration considers evidence of Saddam Hussein's continued "material breach" of Iraq's commitment to the U.N.'s resolution against weapons of mass destruction, war is not the answer until there is proof that Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction.

IU basketball players senior Jeff Newton and freshman Bracey Wright were not suspended from the team, despite rumors to the contrary. A web site imitating CNN.com erroneously reported the two had been arrested and suspended.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- After a losing streak in Florida, the WNBA is gambling on Connecticut. The Mohegan Sun casino will acquire a WNBA franchise, the former Orlando Miracle, a gaming industry source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Associated Press on Monday.

America's Olympic leaders thought they had solved their latest crisis, declaring it much ado about nothing. Meeting privately two weeks ago to debate accusations of an ethics violation by CEO Lloyd Ward, they emerged with smiles and a plea for unity going into the Athens Olympics. "For us, that's the end of it," said Bill Stapleton, U.S. Olympic Committee vice president.

High school star cleared by OHSAA

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James dunks like an NBA player, and drives like one, too. But he's still not a professional. The nation's top high school basketball player was cleared Monday after a two-week investigation determined he did not violate state amateur bylaws by accepting a sports utility vehicle as a gift.
