Indy and the aliens aim to please

“Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” is an enjoyable attempt at reigniting a fire that burned its brightest almost three decades ago. Hopefully Indiana Jones will be at peace now, taking pleasure in his twilight years with wife Marion and son Mutt. I, for one, don’t need to see Harrison Ford searching for Atlantis at age 70.

Even with three singer-turned-actress performers, "Secret Life of Bees" fails to entertain.

Boring bees

Hopefully “The Secret Life of Bees” was a good book, because the film adaptation’s slow-moving and heavy-handed plot never allow it to be entertaining.

Friends of marchers in the 2007 Zombie parade came to add to the atmosphere by acting as reporters on the scene, commenting on the zombies’ smell, appearance and demeanor.

Sadly, the film has more style than substance. Bush ends up seeming oversimplified, and given the amount of ripe material that could have been pulled from W’s second term, the film feels incomplete and disappointing. But probably not as disappointing as his presidency.

Five years ago Jo Burgess, director of the Wylie House Museum, made a trip to Arlington, Mass., to visit a little-known relative of the Wylie family, Morton Bradley Jr. While this was Burgess’ first trip to see Bradley, staff of the IU Art Museum and IU Foundation had visited him many times. At one point during most visits, Bradley would make a point to trudge up to the attic of his estate, returning with a small gift for the museum cradled in his hands.

IU Provost Karen Hanson delivered her second “State of the Campus” speech Tuesday in front of members of the Bloomington Faculty Council at the Indiana Memorial Union. JASPER, Ind. – The audience at Tuesday night’s congressional debate was small, but the crowd was fierce. Officials need more time for Wildermuth decision

IU kicker Austin Starr used to be automatic. Last season especially. Experts tabbed him as one of the nation’s top kickers. A 40-yarder, a chip shot, it didn’t matter. Every boot was destined to split the uprights. The men’s and women’s soccer teams turned in some of the best performances of the season last weekend, but it remains to be seen whether the teams can use these results to turn their campaigns around.IU women’s coach Mick Lyon and the Hoosiers face a near-impossible road to repeat last season’s round of 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Heading into the weekend, IU was 0-6 in conference play with games against in-state rival Purdue and No. 25 Illinois.

Confident Hoosiers ready to swat down Cardinals

Only five games remain before the Big Ten tournament, but the No. 22 Hoosiers aren’t about to look ahead. Coming off a 3-1 upset win against then-No. 9 Notre Dame, IU (7-4-2) wants to build off its victory going into the match against No. 14 Louisville (9-3-2) at 7:30 p.m. today. Sophomore forward Andy Adlard said a key component to the win was a good week of practice preceding the match. Leading up to the Notre Dame game, every Hoosier showed up motivated and prepared, Adlard said.
