New study looks at TED Talks

New research led by IU has found in a comprehensive study of over 1,200 TED Talks videos and their presenters that only 21 percent of the presenters were academics and, of those, only about one-quarter were women, according to a press release.

State trooper shot while halting robbery

Trooper Jarrod Lents, a nine-year veteran of the Indiana State Police, responded to the report of an armed robbery shortly after 1:35 p.m. June 17, when gunfire was exchanged. Lents was shot multiple times.

By the time the IU baseball team showed up to the Creighton University practice field for batting practice Tuesday afternoon, Tracy Smith was cracking jokes, Chad Clark couldn't wipe a smile off of his face and the starters enjoyed making the bench players pick up all the balls in the batting cage after a friendly end of practice competition.

Five dead animals found in vacant apartment

Management of The Stratum of Indiana apartment complex reported several deceased animals in a unit leased by a 20-year-old female who reportedly left Bloomington for China.
