Ind. Democrats to rally for labor unions Thursday

Members of the boycotting House Democrats — who have been holed up in Urbana, Ill., since Feb. 22 — may soon travel back to the Indiana Statehouse to participate in a labor union rally Thursday, said the leader of the boycott.

IUSA Congress votes against Kelty impeachment

Congress voted 31-0 to keep Niel Kelty in public office after Resolution No. 10-11-27 was presented to the floor Tuesday. The resolution proposed Kelty’s impeachment, accusing him of violating IUSA bylaws by unethically handling IUSA finances and student funds.

Protesters gather in support of Planned Parenthood

On Feb. 18, the U.S. House of Representatives approved an amendment to the federal budget proposed by Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind. If passed by the Senate it would cut all federal funding for Planned Parenthood. This amendment could prevent people from receiving reproductive health care such as birth control, cancer screenings and HIV testing.

Pedestrian struck at 10th and Fee

IU police failed to find the driver and vehicle that struck a pedestrian Tuesday at the intersection of 10th Street and Fee Lane, according to IU Police Department Chief Keith Cash.

Musicians open new restaurant for vegetarians

Located in Bloomington’s west side neighborhood, The Owlery, a vegetarian food restaurant co-owned by musicians Ryan Woods and Toby Foster, yielded a successful opening night, serving about 100 to 120 customers.

MBA students from the Kelley School of Business left this weekend as part of five trips that will enhance their global business skills. Students went to Ghana, Peru, India, Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand for about two weeks as part of the Global Business and Social Enterprise initiative and Kelley International Perspectives Program.
