A flexible plan for troop withdrawal

Last week, President Obama discussed his plans to end combat operations in Iraq. A deadline was announced for August 31, 2010 with the stipulation that 35,000 to 50,000 troops would remain after that date.


In his final home game as an Indiana Hoosier, senior forward Kyle Taber stretches for a shot under the basket during the first half of the Hoosiers game against Michigan State Tuesday night at Assembly Hall.

School of Business receives $500,000 donation

The IU Kelley School of Business and Ernst & Young will have a press conference today announcing a $500,000 donation to the school for diversity initiatives.

Pescovitz to leave IU, accepts Michigan post

Dr. Ora Pescovitz, executive associate dean of research at the IU School of Medicine, will leave the University to take a position at the University of Michigan.

Improvement marks Taber’s senior year

There was a time not so long ago when the sound of Chuck Crabb announcing Kyle Taber’s entry into an IU basketball game cued the slow, mass exodus of fans from all corners of Assembly Hall. Such a time has passed.




Graduate students Jedediah Allen and Elise Figa perform with the IU Baroque Orchestra Sunday afternoon at the Auer Concert Hall. They are both in the Early Music Institute at the Jacobs School of Music which studies the historical performance of original musical instruments before 1800.

History was made this weekend as the opera “Hypermnestra” was performed for the first time at IU.As the hair-raising pitches of six Jacobs School of Music singers and the warm instruments of the IU Baroque Orchestra sounded from the stage in an almost-full Auer Concert Hall, the two-hour-long opera showcased many talents.


Great Big Sea are scheduled to perform Wednesday evening at the Bluebird.  They will be performing several hits, including songs from their Fall 2007 released album Fortune's Favour.

Award-winning folk/rock band Great Big Sea is kicking off the second leg of its U.S. tour with a concert at The Bluebird Nightclub on Wednesday. The tour is to promote the band’s new album, “Fortune’s Favour,” which went gold in Canada.
