IUPD looks for man carrying gun in dorm

The IU Police Department is looking for a male it believes had a gun Sunday on the 11th-floor stairwell of Briscoe Residence Center.

The complainant noticed the subject motioning him toward the door, but noticed his right hand in his pocket holding what appeared to be a gun, IUPD Lt. Craig Monroe said, reading from a police report.

The complainant notified an IUPD officer who lives in Briscoe Residence Center. Other officers were also notified and arrived at the scene.
Officers couldn’t locate the subject, Monroe said.
