Hoosiers look to continue conference success

The Hoosiers (16-17) are currently tied for first place in the Big Ten and look to continue their conference reign when they face Penn State at 3 p.m. Friday at Sembower Field. Freshman Blake Monar will pitch game 1, followed by juniors Eric Arnett and Matt Bashore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Man arrested for battery

A Bloomington man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for the February battery of an 85-year-old woman he knew through the woman’s daughter.

Woman steals supplies in sling

Police arrested an Ellettsville woman Tuesday for stealing supplies from Bloomington Hospital in a sling on her arm after a workplace accident.

Local nonprofit sponsors 2nd annual Spring Tea event

My Sister's Closet will have its second annual Spring Tea event Sunday to raise funds for its Bloomington store. The event includes a tea, luncheon, guest speaker, fashion show and silent auction from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bloomington Country Club.

A timely reminder

The Interfraternity Council took a great step this week in helping end sexual assault on campus with their Sexual Assault Awareness Week. Council members have spent the week distributing teal awareness ribbons, collecting donations for Middle Way House and displaying banners listing ways to prevent sexual assault.

Prepare to get your culture shocked like never before, Bloomington. The annual WIUX-run all-day festival will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dunn Meadow.
