End of season marks critical time for Hoosiers

IU closed its 2009-2010 campaign on Thursday. It was a year in which IU improved by four games and completed its second season under coach Tom Crean with a 10-21 record. There were highs and there were lows. But with each game, inch by inch, the team made progress.

Grapplers hit NCAA Championship mats

The IU wrestling team will come into the NCAA Championships on March 18 in Omaha, Neb. As the No. 1 seed at 125 pounds, senior Angel Escobedo will attempt to repeat his run that landed him a national title two years ago. With a record-breaking third Big Ten title and perfect 33-0 record under his belt, Escobedo is once again the favorite to win.

Jacobs library brings a history of music to IU

Each day, hundreds of music students wander through the stacks of scores and browse the digital collections of the William and Gayle Cook Music Library, which houses more than 600,000 items for them to choose from. Philip Ponella, head librarian, said it is trumped only by the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library in terms of collection size.

Hoosiers lose to Northwestern, 73-58

It’s been another down season for the IU men’s basketball team, and now it’s officially done. The Hoosiers fell to the Northwestern Wildcats 73-58 on Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse. With the win, Northwestern moves on to play Purdue tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
