Arts in the Park showcases creativity

The eighth annual Arts in the Park festival spanned seven hours and included demonstrations and art presentations by more than 25 local artists.

Jeanne Madison given E. Ross Bartley Award

The E. Ross Bartley Award, named after one of former IU President Herman B Wells’ staff members, is the highest staff award given by an IU president. On June 13, IU President Michael A. McRobbie bestowed the award to Jeanne Madison,, according to a press release.

Argument leads to attempted murder charge

Larry Gibson, 52, was arrested and preliminarily charged with attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a firearm and pointing a firearm after a dispute at his residence around 9:20 p.m. Thursday.
