I am a former "townie" of Bloomington, I grew up in the suburbs on the southeast side away from campus.
I was shocked to see a column in the May 12 IDS by Mr. Glenesk titled "To the remaining, b-ware." This column is highly offensive to those of us who are considered "townies."
I disagree with some of President Herbert's opinions in regard to the Benton mural in Woodburn 100. First off, I do agree that the mural serves as a reminder of the KKK and the atrocities they caused.
