Little 500: Annual bike race full of traditions, history; raises money for working student scholarships
Little 500 is more than the largest collegiate bicycle race in America. It is more than the biggest intramural event on the IU campus. It is more than a great college weekend. ittle 500 is the event that turns men and women into riders and IU students into Hoosiers. According to the IU Student Foundation’s Web site, the Little 500 is the biggest intramural event at IU. It is also the largest collegiate bike race in the United States.

Noteworthy alumni
Check out IU's noteworthy alumni. Michael Uslan (1973, 1975, 1976) Enthusiast for everything Batman, Uslan was the executive producer of the 1989 film “Batman” and all of its sequels. Most recently, the 2008 “The Dark Knight” has become one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Uslan graduated from IU’s School of Law in 1976 and also taught the nation’s first accredited comic book course at IU in 1971. His 30,000-count comic collection is in IU’s Lilly Library.
Angles at the IU Art Museum
IU’s campus is full of beauty, both natural and man-made. The IU Art Museum is hard to miss. Though the entrance to the museum, located on Seventh Street near the IU Auditorium, is swallowed by the museum’s walls, while a 70-foot-tall light tower and a 21-foot-tall circular red statue stand guard out front.

IU offers more than 80 overseas programs in 17 languages in 37 countries.
Union Board works overtime on campus
Union Board is the leading student programming organization at IU. Three executive team members and a group of committee directors work to plan activities for the Indiana Memorial Union and the campus, including concerts, lectures and debates.
Sage Collection stylizes history
From the outside, The Sage Collection doesn’t appear grandiose. The large, white building has no sign. Except for a few cars, the parking lot is vacant. But tucked away in a back room inside 1430 N. Willis Dr. is the result of more than 90 years of collecting: a stockpile of more than 24,000 pieces of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and fashion accessories, all dating from the late 18th century to today.

A small card in IU’s reference library was imprinted with a brief definition of the word “Hoosier.” Jeffrey Graf, a reference associate at the Herman B Wells Library, thought its explanation was too brief, so he produced a large file of information and started a struggle that has been on IU’s campus for quite some time.
Many remember Jill Behrman on what would have been her 30th birthday
Jill Behrman was a Bloomington resident who disappeared May 31, 2000 after leaving home for a bicycle ride. In 2003, two hunters found her remains in a wooded area of Morgan County. Today is her 30th birthday.
