Childs Elementary School, which is in the Monroe County Community School Corporation, was one of 12 schools in Indiana named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2013.

HIV/AIDS program expands

The Academic Model Providing Access to Health is an HIV-fighting initiative created by the IU School of Medicine in partnership with Moi University’s School of Medicine in Kenya. It is one of the largest and most comprehensive academic centers for the treatment of AIDS in the world and serves a population of 3.5 million people throughout western Kenya.



Jazz Jam fosters awareness in community

Cafe Django hosted it’s monthly Django Jazz Jam, an event hosted by Jazz from Bloomington to raise awareness of jazz in the Bloomington community and bring together artists of all demographics to play in a relaxed, collaborative environment.

Provost releases Media School proposal

The proposal codifies previously released details, clarifies speculation and introduces new information in areas including faculty, academic programs, administrative organization and budget. The proposal also establishes a time frame through 2016 for the merger.

Lotus Festival gets early opening on campus

IU, the new School of Global and International Studies and Lotus will present a kick-off concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union. The concert will be free for IU students.
