Video unveils Chocolate Moose's history

On Thursday, the Monroe County History Center hosted the event "Remember the Penguin," tracing the roots of the Chocolate Moose, an ice cream shop formerly known as the Penguin, at 401 S. Walnut St., back to the original May's Café of 1933.

University Commons sold

After a $28 million sale, the former University Commons has changed its name but little else. Rechristened "College Park at Campus Corner," the apartment complex will eventually undergo some renovations, though the new owners are unlikely to make specific plans until January.

Student's voice stands out, puts her on stage in Indianapolis event

Imagine standing before a crowd of 100,000 in the middle of downtown Indianapolis with all eyes on you. This is exactly what junior Chaley Rose Jackson is set to do Friday at Indianapolis' 44th annual Circle of Lights. She will take the stage to sing "O Holy Night" as one of six acts in Indiana chosen to perform during the holiday celebration.

Even though IU administration policy requires professors to have classes the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving break, that doesn't mean students are attending. While reasons vary from student to student, many skip class to go home early.

Spring IDS editor in chief selected

In 1776, Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal. This was one of the most crucial elements of American democracy, created back when our nation was an emaciated baby with a big head. (But not cute like TomKat's or Brangelina's baby. Probably more like what I imagine Conan O'Brien and Calista Flockhart's pilgrim love-child would look like.)

Hoosier, Boilermaker cyclists to ride for Habitat for Humanity

Constructing a house is no easy task. But Habitat for Humanity wants to make building a house as simple as riding a bike. With that in mind, the IU and West Lafayette chapters of Habitat for Humanity have organized the inaugural Bucket 100 Bike Tour to raise money for their respective organizations. The two-day bicycle ride starts at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington Friday morning and ends at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette Saturday.

As Mary Beth Kime sat back in the dentist chair, she gazed into the eyes of the oh-so-attractive dentist leaning just inches away from her face. While he performed a routine inspection of her mouth, Kime realized she wasn't the only one who felt the chemistry between them. In a moment their lips locked, but it wasn't long before they fell to the stage floor, groping each other passionately in a very public display of affection in front of the more than 500 in attendance to watch the demonstration of what author Michael Christian calls the "fantasy kiss." Kime, a freshman, and her kissing partner freshman Kyle Alexander are one of the four volunteer couples who bravely took to the Indiana Memorial Union's Alumni Hall stage Thursday evening for the Union Board's "Art of Kissing" presentation based off of the international best-selling book authored by Christian, with the aforementioned title.

IU takes road to Oaken Bucket

Hollywood could not have written a better script. The IU football team needs just one win to become bowl-eligible for the first time in 13 years. The road to that sixth win goes through Purdue's Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette. "This is what you dream about," senior safety Will Meyers said. "You practice, and you work hard for games like this. Without a doubt, this is what you play for."
