Four years ago, if someone had told me that upon my graduating the world would be mired in a global financial crisis and a black man would be our president, I would have laughed. But such is the world we seem to have inherited. And what an incredible ride it has been.

State Radio plays for addiction awareness

The gods of rock ‘n’ roll smiled down on Dunn Meadow on Friday, as lightning did not strike and rain remained a drizzle, allowing State Radio to perform a free show for IU and those who traveled from faraway places like Madison, Wis., Northern Illinois University and Louisville, Ky.




Terry Clapacs, IU vice president and chief administrative officer, laughs after a question about his time as the IU athletics director during an interview Thursday afternoon in his Bryan Hall office. Clapacs will retire on May 28, 2009 after 39 years with the university.

If it weren’t for Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Terry Clapacs, the Arboretum would be a parking lot. That’s what Director of Facilities Michael Crowe said of Clapacs, his boss and friend, who will retire May 28.
