Angry rhetoric. Vitriolic hate speech. A broken mental health system. A culture of violence. Video games. Rip roarin’ rap music. The Second Amendment. All have been culprits blamed by the media for the tragic events that occurred in Tucson, Ariz. I would like to submit another: randomness.

It is only natural for our society to take precautions in the wake of the Tuscan, Ariz., shooting. The now infamous, Jared Lee Loughner, was, previous to the attack, suspended from Pima Community College for disruptive behavior.

Many repeals to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act were drafted after Republicans took control of the U.S. House of Representatives last fall, and one of the bipartisan ones has overwhelming support from Indiana congressmen.

Community Kitchen adds space with renovation

The Monroe County Community Kitchen will be moving to a new location late this summer or early next fall. The recently purchased building is located on South Rogers Street. Once the building is renovated there will be approximately 1,100 more square feet.

They have been together for 13 years, and it keeps getting better, Tea Leaf Green guitarist Josh Clark said. Clark and the rest of the band  will kick off its most recent tour in Bloomington on Thursday.

Wearing a pinstripe suit and Ray-Ban glasses, author, whistle-blower and health care reform advocate Wendell Potter crossed his legs in a dressing room of the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Sunday afternoon. Potter spoke to the Indiana Daily Student about his resignation from Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CIGNA), his book and whether or not he has any regrets.
