Kid Kazooey entertains children at Max’s Place

Kevin MacDowell is a performer with no shame. His stage name is “Kid Kazooey,” and “lively, well adjusted, Bloomingtonian kids” are his target audience. He’s been performing at schools and other venues for 17 years.

Street musician entertains at farmers' market

Mitch Rice, a local musician, has been performing at the Bloomington Farmers' Market since 1979. While he was joined by a usual partner, his friend's pet parrot, a new high school girl joined his set this past weekend.

Bloomington resident Cassaundra Huskey petitions for Jake’s Wall

For years, Cassaundra Huskey spent 30 minutes on an elliptical each day staring at the same blank back wall of Jake’s Nightclub from the confines of Cardinal Fitness. Huskey started a project titled “Jake’s Wall” to try to paint a mural on what she describes on the project grant application as a “glaring spot of blight in an otherwise thriving district of the city.”
