IU hosts Purple Aces in final non-conference game

The IU softball team kicks off Big Ten conference play this week, but before it takes on top-team No. 6 Michigan (25-3) at 3 p.m. Friday at the IU Softball Field, the Hoosiers will host their last non-conference opponent, Evansville (14-7) at 4 p.m. today.

Confident Hoosiers swing for 5 straight

Hoosiers win 2; remain undefeated in Big Ten

In its first Big Ten home matches of the year, the No. 32 IU women’s tennis team did not disappoint. Defeating No. 43 Iowa in a close 4-3 match and No. 49 Minnesota 6-1, the Hoosiers held on to their Big Ten record.

Sigma Alpha Mu, Teter win Little 500 pole positions

Teter had the fastest time for the women, winning the pole position – the best starting position on race day – with an unofficial time of 2:39.45. On what seemed like a wintry day, Little 500 riders heated up on the track for qualifications. Sigma Alpha Mu won the pole for the men’s race and Teter won the pole for the woman’s race.

Team drops 9th game in last 11, loses both games in shortened invitational

The IU softball team could not sustain the momentum it gained after its 1-0 shutout win over Drake on Thursday as the Hoosiers (6-19) lost Friday afternoon to Louisville and the University of Illinois-Chicago. The Hoosiers were supposed to host the IU Classic this weekend, but because of weather, all of Saturday’s games were canceled.

IU fights wind, rain to beat Louisville in home opener

Coming back from a successful spring break, IU’s rowing team competed against the No. 20 Louisville Cardinals at Lake Lemon Saturday. With the wind and rain pushing the rowers to their limits, IU placed second in the varsity eight race, which is considered the most prestigious, but won the varsity four.

Dakich lobbies to remain coach at IU
