The on-again, off-again rivalry that is IU and Illinois

“I think Indiana will suck. Don’t put that on the Internet.” Those words came from Illinois coach Bruce Weber at a fan function late last June. The utterance chucked tinder onto the barn fire that has been the IU-Illinois rivalry in recent years.



Hoosiers’ losing streak runs to 4 with OT defeat

Coming into Thursday night’s game against Michigan State, the Hoosiers were riding a season-high three-game losing streak. Unfortunately for IU, the streak was extended to four with an overtime loss.

Hoosiers hope to break streak

Any losing streak is tough. The women’s basketball team is on a three-game one, having lost four of its last five games. IU hopes to break its longest losing streak tonight against Michigan State (17-7, 10-3) at Assembly Hall.

Turnovers plague IU in 62-54 loss

Paul Carter’s career-high 22 points and a season-high 14 steals by quick-handed Minnesota helped the Gophers hold off the IU men’s basketball team 62-54 on Tuesday.

Cycling club a great choice for all riders

For the IU Cycling Club, the spirit of competitive cycling lasts throughout the entire school year. This student-run association is one of several club sports organizations at IU.

Sophomore Andrea McGuirt embodies the definition of a student-athlete. McGuirt, a guard on the women’s basketball team, is a student in the Kelley School of Business and has a 3.9 GPA.

Dumes addresses elbowing incident

During Saturday’s game against Michigan State, Dumes was whistled for a flagrant foul and ejected after throwing his third elbow of the game.
