His ill-fated romance with Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman may be behind one of his latest tracks, but inspiration seems to be one thing rocker Lenny Kravitz is sorely missing.

FAME IS JUST A DOWNLOAD AWAY

·

Despite a seeming barrage of lawsuits aimed to curb illegal filesharing, use of such engines as KaZaA, Morpheus and LimeWire are nevertheless on the rise, and high-profile old stalwarts like Metallica have upped the ante with their anti-MP3 rhetoric

'Miracle' shoots, scores on DVD

·

Come-from-behind, feel-good, larger-than-yourself stories -- at least the kind on display in "Miracle," the story of the "miracle on ice" 1980 U.S. hockey team which is new to DVD -- are something that will never go out of style in movies.

The rest of the IU men's and women's tennis seasons might be over, but individual players on the teams are still leaving their mark on the NCAA singles and doubles championships. With a win Wednesday, the doubles duo of sophomore Sarah Batty and senior Linda Tran advanced to the final eight of the NCAA tournament doubles championship, while junior Jakub Praibis notched his first NCAA tournament win in the men's singles championship. After an opening round victory, Batty and Tran (14-3) advanced to the round of 16 to face off against junior Heather Saluri and senior Anda Perianu, the No. 17 team from Oklahoma. Noise Invasion

·

They only wiggle out of the earth every 17 years. But for Bloomington residents, the emerging cicada -- "Brood X" to entomologists -- poses a significant concern. People unaccustomed to rural wildlife are unfamiliar with the migration patterns of the insect, parents fret over children coming in contact with them and gardeners worry over prized plants. Yet cicadas are a periodical insect, meaning that their emergence is sporadic but calculated. This summer, they will be in the Midwest and more active than usual for a variety of reasons.

Who is Superman?

·

Like many dramatic graphic novels before it, DC Vertigo's "It's a Bird…" by Steven Seagle and Teddy Kristiansen uses paint rather than the traditional comic book coloring to bring the story to life on a more emotional and psychological level. Kristiansen's painting is a contemporary impressionism, giving a grainy and scratchy, yet very realistic portrayal of life typical of such emotive comic books. The death of Aunt Sarah near the end of the story is pivotal and made especially horrifying by Kristiansen.
