The 14th annual Lotus World Music and Arts Festival kicks off Thursday, Sept. 27, and will continue through the weekend. The festival strives to bring diverse acts from across the world. The number of artists at the festival can be overwhelming, so WEEKEND has compiled a top 10 must-see itinerary.

Lotus Festival: Blending culture, arts, music

This weekend Bloomington will play host to the fall’s cultural equivalent of Little 500. Years of hard work, dozens of musicians and artists and more than 10,000 energetic attendees will combine for the 14th annual Lotus World Music and Arts Festival beginning tonight. The musical acts will travel from as far as halfway around the world and from as close as the local community to entertain anticipated thousands.

Tourist group raising funds for statue of the Fonz

MILWAUKEE –The Fonz in bronze? It could happen. Visit Milwaukee, a group that promotes the city as a tourism and convention destination, is leading an effort to raise money for a bronze sculpture of the character played by Henry Winkler on TV’s “Happy Days,” which was set in Milwaukee.
