Colts running back Kenton Keith walked into a whole new world Monday afternoon. His cell phone was ringing and reporters surrounded his locker. The former Canadian Football League player, who never had a serious chance in the NFL until this season, had become an instant star.

Today marks deadline for Indiana voter registration

Today is the deadline to register to vote in Monroe County for the Nov. 6 municipal election. Those submitting an application in person must print it out and take it to the Monroe County Board of Voter Registration at 301 N. College Ave., Room 202 by 4 p.m. Those mailing the application must have it postmarked by 5 p.m. today.

Tudor Room tip policy questioned

Tim Solon had worked at the Indiana Memorial Union’s Tudor Room for more than a year when earlier this month he was told to sign a new tip policy that, according to his calculations, would cost him about $3 an hour in wages. Solon said he questioned his supervisor on the new procedure, who told Solon that he could either sign the policy or quit. Solon quit.

Leaning across the table at a Sherwood Oaks Christian Church dinner, Lyle Haskin asks Gene Ruder, “Who’d you have?” The scene looks like any other jovial dinner party, but the answer to Haskin’s question refers to who Ruder had as an oncologist at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute, where both men are being treated for cancer.

Student improvisation troupe gets laughs while making up every show on the spot

Whose line is it anyway? Awkward Silence Comedy can tell you in its Drew Carey-like performances. Awkward Silence Comedy, the only group of short-form improvisation performers on campus, makes up every show on the spot. Each show features a different improvisation game that the group picks ahead of time. Members create some of the games while others are standard improvisation techniques.

Women’s soccer team on collision course with Purdue

At the beginning of any Big Ten season, there must be some concern from the teams that the toughness of the conference will lead them to drop a few games to competitive opponents. In the middle of the storm that is Big Ten conference play, the IU women’s soccer team has opened the season hot, losing only one game and riding an 11-game unbeaten streak after a 1-0 victory over Michigan State on Sunday.
