Overcrowding in Monroe County Jail could mean federal lawsuit

There are 272 people living in the Monroe County jail, which is only meant to hold 200 people. About 70 people sleep on the floor each night. Monroe County could face a federal lawsuit because all inmates must have their own beds, according to state and federal laws.

The No. 44 IU men’s tennis team is taking its game to East Lansing on Saturday to face conference rival No. 70 Michigan State. The Hoosiers look to improve on their 11-4 overall record and 1-1 record in the Big Ten.

No. 25 Hoosiers look to extend winning streak

On a seven-match winning streak that includes victories against No. 31 Ohio State and No. 45 Iowa, the No. 25 IU women’s tennis team will take on two opponents this weekend that could change its luck – unranked Michigan State and No. 19 Notre Dame.

3 seniors to play in final career home matches

As the No. 17 IU water polo team prepares for its final home games of the season, three seniors are ready for their last appearance at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center. The Hoosiers open the Fluid Five tournament against Wagner on Saturday and will face No. 19 Santa Clara on Sunday.

IU hosts 2nd straight home match

The IU rowing team will host its second home regatta this season when the Hoosiers take on Dayton and Eastern Michigan at Lake Lemon on Saturday. With every race inching closer to Big Ten play, the rowing team is trying to gain more speed and experience each weekend.
