"The Invention of Lying"

We’d be lying if we said it was inventive

Though “The Invention of Lying” claims to be a comedy, the laughs come to an abrupt halt within the first 10 minutes of the film, when blunt truths about appearance and sexuality quickly lose their comic edge and the scenario becomes much darker.

As a band, Alice in Chains has been through a lot, chiefly the death of its lead singer, grunge god Layne Staley in 2002. After Staley’s death, there didn’t seem to be much of a future for the rest of the band. Yet here we are with a new Alice in Chains album – one that is possibly the best record the band has done.

SPEA professor dies

School of Public and Environmental Affairs adjunct professor David J. Allen died yesterday at age 74 from an acute form of leukemia. He helped form SPEA in 1972, and is remembered as the school's strongest supporter.

Connection problem plagues Internet on campus this afternoon

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana officials are distributing more than 162,000 child identification kits to kindergartners and first graders across the state to help authorities locate the youngsters if they go missing.
