Clegg to recruit faculty for IU

In his new position as Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity, Claude Clegg will be responsible for working with the IU-Bloomington Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs to recruit faculty for the University.

University announces location of proposed medical school

A six-block plot of land in Evansville now has the IU Medical School’s name on it. The proposed location of the University’s 10th medical school campus was announced last Friday after plans were submitted through December and January by several different companies.

Religion consortium to launch at IU

Study considers soil elements as cause for stroke

Decision-making computer could redefine medicine

An artificial intelligence could search an entire patient’s medical history, warn of complications and recommend possible treatments based on a patient’s current stage of illness. Such a computer is the pet project of two IU computer science and informatics professors, Kris Hauser and Sriraam Natarajan.

Last week, the United States Surgeon General released a report chronicling the past 50 years of the cigarette in America. And while some states have started to withdraw from the trend of smoking, the Centers for Disease Control say a quarter of Hoosiers are still lighting up.
