IU Auditorium and Union Board will present Step Afrika! in an outdoor performance at Kinsey Hollow at 6 p.m. April 23. The event is free and open to IU students, faculty and staff, according to the IU Auditorium event web page.

When she and her fellow fashion design majors found out their senior fashion show was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, senior Dayjah Lee said the group was devastated. Students were upset and angry at the situation, and there were many tears, Lee said.

University Players, an IU student-led theater company, premiered “Bright Star: Concert Version” Saturday at 8:30 p.m. There were limited in-person seats at the Hamilton Lugar School South Lawn, but the show was also broadcasted on BookTixLive. The show was co-directed by seniors Kyle Mason and Taylor Ward.

IU theater will present “Little Women: the Broadway Musical” 7:30 p.m. April 20-24. A recording of the production will be broadcasted virtually to people who reserve tickets. Tickets are free and can be reserved on the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance website.

The women of student-run acapella group IU Ladies First will perform their annual Spring Showcase 8 p.m. April 30 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. This two-hour showcase will be the group’s last concert of the semester and will celebrate its graduating class. Tickets will be available at the BCT Box Office.

Henry Woronicz, a nationally recognized actor, director and producer, directed Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” as his first IU production in 2006. Fifteen years later, he is once again directing the show, only this time during a pandemic.

The Singing Hoosiers will air their radio show “Hoosiers: Live at Home,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday on WFIU. The show will feature original songs and covers, storytelling and sketch comedy. Listeners can listen on the radio at 103.7 MHz or on the WFIU website.

Act 1 of “Into the Woods” is about fairytales and happy endings. Cinderella gets the prince, Little Red Riding Hood kills the wolf and Rapunzel is rescued. However, Act 2 shows what follows happily ever after as fairytale characters work together as a community to defeat a larger enemy: a giant.

Alpha Zeta, the IU chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, is broadcasting an information night about joining IU bands, specifically the Marching Hundred, 4 p.m. on Feb. 20. The Q&A event will be produced by Epsilon Nu, the chapter’s 2021 class of membership candidates, and broadcasted on Facebook Live. The event is oriented toward high school students, but anyone interested in joining college bands are welcome to attend.
