Passengers board the Ford Tri-Motor plane Thursday afternoon. The plane was a part of Eastern Air Transport, which was the start of the commercial airline movement in the late 1920's.

The 1929 airplane flies over Bloomington. The plane was destroyed by a wind storm in the 1970's and almost entirely rebuilt.

The Monroe County Airport allowed community members to purchase tickets to fly on the Ford Tri-Motor last week for their 75th anniversary. The plane is maintained by volunteers and rides last about 12 minutes.
