Artificial intelligence poker bots, created by undergraduate students from universities across Indiana, will battle for the top spot in IU’s first Poker Programming Contest.

The first-time kick-off event was planned to get new and returning participants of Step Into Fitness excited for the program, said Megan Amadeo, associate director of personal training at IU Recreational Sports. The nine-week program from June 1 through July 31 is free to all IU faculty and staff members. Students watched the documentary “Papers: Stories of Undocumented Youth” along with 20 other students Wednesday at the IU Maurer School of Law. The documentary, written and directed by Anne Galisky, told the stories of four students facing high school graduation without legal citizenship status.
