Martha Marmouze and Jeremy Nottinham perform Saturday at the Farmers Market in downtown Bloomington with their traditional English dance group, the Bloomington Quarry Morris. The group was founded more than 30 years ago and includes members from a variety of ages.
Husband and wife, Iuri Santos and Linda Lewis, pose beside their first business endeavor, Rasta Pops. The pair met while Lewis was teaching English in Brazil, Santos' homeland, and after three months decided to marry and live together in the United States. After fifteen years they have two children, Zeca, 13, and Zara, 10, and have kept a connection to Brazil through continuing traditions and now, running their Brazilian-inspired ice pops business.

Santos grew up in Brazil where he says vendors are on almost every street selling ice pops from coolers strapped to their necks, it was those memories that inspired him and his wife to start this business in Bloomington.
Linda Lewis lays out 'Mint Watermelon' and 'Mango' Rasta Pops on a baking sheet before returning them to the freezer for a final freeze. The ice pops are made nearly completely vegan and organic, Lewis says they just haven't yet found a reasonably-priced vegan option for Sweetened Condensed Milk-- a staple in the creamy 'Caramel with Coconut' pop.
